I agree, the Azenis sports are the best bang for buck street tire available. You wouldn't believe the stick through corners with those things.

I doubt they will last until winter, which is good, because you shouldn't drive on azenis in the winter.

Whenever the term "winter" is used when talking about tires, does that just mean on snow or icy roads? When I'm shopping for tires, I'm never clear on that. I never see snow, but I often drive in rain. So does that mean I should always shop for a "summer" tire, and keep away from "all-season" or "winter?"

3) what other tires do you guys use and what do you recommend dor an all season, winter/rain, lil bit of highspeed dipping

Yokohama AVS ES100's.

The Good - good drip, predictable breakaway, good treadwear for a performance tire, does't hydroplane at sensible speeds

Bad - will track rain groves, V rating is not available in a 205/60 15. You'll have to get a 215/60. Then the question becomes, how wide are the wheels.

Miscellaneous notes

"All season performance tire" is an oxymoron

Performance tire + snow = body work and a tow fee

hey i got some barums from discount tire and they are great. in the rain they wont even spin from a start, and they hold the road like nothing else. they were like 63 each

I agree with the azenis sport, its like I was driving a new car, and they cost me barely nothing (about $40 for my teeny weenie 14s). But don't drive on them in the rain, as cool as the tread pattern is its not ment for slick surfaces.

Any thoughts on the Kumho Ecsta 711? A few reviews from T2 owners at Tirerack.com seemed really positive, and they're only $55 each.

Also, an article over at teamfc3s.org said that 245/45's will fit on the stock rim, and the $55 prace tag was for that size.

After my wreck, I think I want as much contact patch as possible. Anyone here gone with that wide a tire on stock rims?

I have 711's on my dd. They are good for the money, not ultimate grip, but good all around for rain and treadlife
