Ok, So ive been doing some work on my 87 TII the last couple days and i a test for my air control valve where you unhook the hose At the air pump and make sure there is no vacuum @ Idle, Then you increase engine speed to over 3000 rpm and then snap the throttle shut and make sure there is vacuum. Well, there is no vacuum on mine, But i dont want to go and replace my air control valve if that really isn't the problem. And the reason i am checking all this stuff is because i am storing the car for winter and want to solve the problem of the car bucking back and forth under deceleration in 3rd gear Around 2-2500 rpms. I know it's isn't my throttle sensor cause that checks ok. What else should i check?

Oh, and also, I was going to check my thermostat because i have no heat in the car, but i can't find the damn coolant drain plug... I know it's under the left side of the radiator but hell... i can't find it.

Thanks,

Anthony.

If you have a jack, jack the front up some and run yor hand across the bottom of the radiator, and check good it could be covered in dirt/mud/oil anything just check good. I bet its still there https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...IR#>/happy.gif

the coolent drain is in the center of th rad. there is a hole in the belly pan to access the screw. and i would go ahead and replace the acv

Thanks guys. Do you happen to know around about how much an acv costs? And do you think that is causing my problem?

you can look for them on ebay for cheap used though but you may have to go threw a couple before you find a really good one https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...IR#>/bigok.gif p.s. most people just remove this thing https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...1047683473.gif

Holly ****!!! Yea, that is a little more than i want to pay... I don't know what to do now...I don't really want to do the ebay thing and have to keep replacing it, that'd be a pain in the ass. looks like my only option is to fork out the $430.00. If i do that it better solve the problem or i'll go crazy! https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...1047683358.gif

Do you guys know where the water thermo sensor is on a 87 TII? And could that cause bogging probs during deceleration?

neil 12-13-2006 04:36 PM

N332-13-990 VALVE, AIR 399.06, INTERNET PRICE + FREIGHT.. Be sure that's the problem, be an expensive paper weight if it didn't solve it. https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...1047683358.gif

We usually charge 10% frt but let us ship it ground and we can save ya $20 on freight..

I have Non turbo so am not well qualified to help diag the rpoblem... Best of luck.
