ok my pd is leaking so i tore down the motor and pulled it off... as usual the screw had some loose and was rattling inside... now i pulled the cap off and got curious... i reinstalled the screw and it screwed in nice and tight, now what if i were to JB weld the entire cap submerging the screw hense making it impossible for it to come loose. is that a possible way to technically rebuild the PD? has anybody done this before? thanks in advance

ah yes, the good ol' JB weld trick. Look, just dont do it, JB is the devil and your only asking for more trouble by rigging. From what ive been reading in recent posts you can either purchase yourself a new PD or go ahead and upgrade to an FPR that has a PD. Do yourself a favor and throw the JB as far as you can.

That screw is preset to create a certain amount of tension on the diaphram. Once it's out your fucked.

What you did by screwing it back in "nice and tight", was to pull the diaphram all the way to one side, possibly ripping it further, but at the very least, disabling it.

If it's leaking I'm pretty sure the diaphram has been compromised. I can't find the diagram I remember, but I don't believe the screw being out has anything to do with it leaking.

If you must rig it, do the banjo bolt mod, but I'm in the camp against running sans PD.

Cheers

A few years back I patched the PD screw hole & screw with epoxy.

It held well enough to drive while I waited for a new part to arrive.
