Hey guys.. and girls...

First of all my car is a series 4 turbo rx7.

I'm no mechanic but i have enough skills to put a motor in etc.

I blew my motor so i bought another one and swapped it over and put it in.. The engine starts and runs but sounded like it was only running on 1 rotor. So I done a compression test and I have 100pound on the front rotor. but nothing at all on the rear.

Can anyone tell me if this means the seal in the rear rotor is just ... stuffed... or if its just a common problem for engines that have been sitting for a while and there is a way to fix it ? Apparently the engine had just come from japan and was apparently in running order.. which is true it does run.. but only on 1 rotor.

It boosts to about 4-5psi. If I block the waste gate off it hits 6psi (At first I thought it was the turbo blown making the engine run rough so I replaced the turbo - I had a spare sitting in the garage)

As I only just got the engine in I am really thinking I don't wanna hear the word "rebuild" so If there's any suggestions I'd love to hear them.

Also is it safe to have it running on the front rotor only. Like I need to take it 25km's just to get it to the workshop or anything. Will it put too much strain on the front rotor running by itself?

Replies would be awesome.

Thanks.

u will be better off and u will know the engine has 0 miles on the rebuild unlike not knowing anything that he engine has been through...

Hey, I put some oil in plug hole and let it soak for a few days and it seems to have unstuck my seals on the rear rotor.

now I have very little acceleration like it revs as high as i want it sort of thing like 6000-7000 or whatever (I dont actually rev it that high tho) but it does it very slowly. and the turbo is only boosting to 5psi.

I'm guessing its going slow because its not boosting as a mate said thats how they run N/A. But I believe its still slower then a N/A

Do you know what could be limiting to to 5psi ?

Its running a Microtech LT8. But it was running about 10/12psi on the old engine so I dont think it would be the computer.
