so im driven home late one night and i'm messen around with an eclipse. I do a stupid downshift from 5th to fourth and on my way back to 5th i grind mad,,,now my tranny grinds every time i go into 5th??? i figure i really fucked it up or something,,,anywayz im going to FL in a little while and im going to have acouple of days to have the car in the shop,,so now im thinken my car needs work BAd and its spring summers right here and im not pushen what i would like..SOOO i figure boost control is about due plus some fuel management should be in order. Now the question of what applications should i order?? i made a list as,,it reads as follows:



Boost controllers

1)Apexi AVC-R "Looks nice and has the best features for the price"

2)Greddy Profec B "Simple Boost easy no problems,,and cheap"

Turbo Timer (If i have enough)

Either Apexi or Greddy

3)Fuel Management

Apexi Super AFC second edition "the only one ive ever seen,,plus goes nice with AVC-R"

4)and lastly Greddy Type S BOV



My main concern is for the safty of my car,,i dont want to blow my engine or anything,,,but i do want to boost the fuel managment allows me to check my air/fuel ratio so i figure this should prevent any stupidity(if stupidity can be prevented) i need some input,,if anybody has used any of these products give me your 2 cents and share any of your setups and let me know what u guys think???

i like that set up

well you can also try getting a bigger fuel pump.....

not that exxpensive



and about your 5th gear it will prolly grind from now on till you either change the synchro or get a new tranny

but 5th isnt that important just dont shift to quickly into it

yeah its the 5th gear synchro. its not too bad to do, cause you can do it without touching the rest of the tranny.



as far as your other mods, profec b @10psi with a fuel pump and safc sould be great

Since you are running the full exhaust you should work on some fuel mods, otherwise your engine will be needing another rebuild. I would go with the SAFC and a walbro fuel pump. I have thes SAFC in my car, and it is easy to use. Also I'd think about getting a FMIC.

ok so now i know what a the synchro is,,,thats a kool web page,,,anywayz,,whys it not to bad,,,can i fix it myself,,or what ???

you can but you need a special puller set, theres 2 bearings you need to pull off

heres a question on the synchros

is the 5th gear synchro easier than changing any of the other gear synchros???

dude i have no clue???where due i get this puller set,,,and where would i get a 5th gear synchro?????DAMNIT,,im prob ganna bring it in and waste mad dough,,,,and not get my boost and fuel ****,,,,im getting sad
