.I noticed something yesterday while looking at the rotors, the pads both sides dont look like there seeded right, both rotors have 3 separate marks on them like the pads are not making full contact--there marking in the bottom, the middle and the top but not a full contact.---wierd????????

ive seen something like that before on some aftermarket pads, the backing to the pad needs to be taken off before they work properly.

I feel for you, I have the same problem but only when i put in brand new brembo rotors and hawk hp+ pads. Even after i got the pads replaced by hawk, i stillhad the problem. I put back the original Mazda rotors in (which are razor thin) and the problem basically dissapearred.

I am missing a shims that goes inside of one of the calipers, it is where the edge of the pads slide, that's where the noise is coming from. (Not the ones that go behind the pads) I have to see if mazda sells them cause i don't seem them on the catalog.

that will do it, it's called the 'hardware kit' usually.

Is this with the drilled rotors?

If the rotors don't have a good hole pattern, you can get this. Check to see if the "rings" line up with a ring of holes in

the rotor. If the holes are not placed correctly, they will leave some areas of the pad un-touched by any holes and other areas alway seeing holes. What you want is almost 100% coverage of the pad with the holes with no open areas.

I ran into this problem with a "cheap" set of rotors for another car that did not go away until I drew my own pattern on AutoCAD and drilled them myself.

This should not be the cause of the noise however.

Good luck.
