I am an 18 year old male and i need to know an estimate of how much i will be paying for insurace on the 87-88 turbos or any of the second gen turbos. How much is everyone paying for their insurance and does anybody have an estitmated guess how much it would be for me? Any help is greatly appreciated.

That's a tough one to answer. It all depends on area, coverages, etc... One thing I can promise you is insuance companies make their fortunes off statistics and statistics put you in a pretty high risk category. I'm sure a Turbo, two door sports car is going to run you a few.

If I were you I would just give your insurance company call and they'll tell what it will cost you.

Well, I'd call, but I will give you a shot from the hip and say on a turbo... $200.00 per month. That's being conservative, but I don't know what insurance costs in your state. I pay liability on 3 cars, two of them RX-7's and it's $80.00 per month.

Hope that helps!

Talking

Call an insurance company or two like I recommended in the other post just like this one, but third gen. :sarcasm: They give FREE quotes.

Dude, how are we gonna know how much an unnamed insurance company is going to charge you in your area for insurance on an unknown year of a car, an unknown driving record, unknown accident record, and unknown coverages? I'd like to help you out, but this isn't Geiko Direct.

Like I said, sort of, in the other thread: Fast + Young = $$$ insurance. Think smaller if the cost of insurance is scaring you. If you don't have money for the insurance, what will hapen the fist time something needs replacing? Try out an NA 2nd gen or a 1st gen. Enjoy the cheaper insurance and repairs, wait for a couple years, get the fast car you wanted when you have the cash to float it. Speed costs money.

Good luck,

...Or you could do what I'm doing, and drop a TII engine into the 1st gen you bought when the money is around.

i have the money for insurance provided that its reasonbale...thats why i asked for an estimate...jus to see around what everyone else was paying...the insurance quotes take a long time and get very redundant...i inherited a 98 toyota supra twin turbo with only 3,800 miles when my uncle died and i got an insurance quote for that and it was ridiculous...a little under $25,000 a year...so i sold it...$38,000 for it and i have had a full time job since i was 16 so i have money for the car and insurance....i am too lazy to get an insurance quote and i have the money...i am look to pay under 6,000 a year...so with that number based on what you are paying do you think my insurance will fall under that?

sorry for the long post i jus kinda kept talkin......

$6,000 per year for basic liability? I would guess so. It can pretty rediculous, but probably not that rediculous.

I don't know what kind of crazy *** sh*t goes on in New York with insurance, but here in indiana, I have an 86 GXL and I only pay $130 a month (full coverage) under my parents insurance co (I'm 18 too). I thought that was expensive. As for $6000, maybe so in New York. Also, my first car when I was 16 was an '80 Porsche 924 Turbo and insurance was $138 a month.
