This is a local TII forsale. I have no clue about the TII engines.

Looking at the pics, there is WAY more room under that hood than in my 88 GXL. can anyone tell from the pics if everythings there to have it run?

I spy and arc intercooler, from the pics looks like everything is in place.. He just took out the p/s a/c and stock intake/fan setup. He has a standalone too, no afm and I see a map sensor.. That elimnates a lot of junk..

You would probably want to put a duel-pully on that alt.

Edit: And put a real intake on there, imagine how hot that air is he is sucking up

well, if I get it I would be spending the money on it that would be going to my 84's rebuild (which would be my only car that runs). I just wonder if it is drivable. gonna give him a call and see if I can go look at it tomorrow or Monday.

(will take cam with me so I can get some interior pics)

I agree w/ J...looks like a stock TMIC w/out the shrouds around it. I don't think sucking in hot air is a concern w/ that setup..he's probably making good power anyways.

Find out if it runs though...if he's only asking 2K or so, it either doesnt run, or the guy is on crack!

well, he said it has a little problem between 2200rpm and 5k rpm. where it acts up. put he says its just because he doesn't know how to program the stuff he put on. so I'm not sure if I believe him. trying to set up the meeting.

Hope it runs good.

also, what should I look for when I take a look at it? engine wise. (don't think I ever had a good running rx7 )

First, find out what kind of standalone he's running...and be sure YOU know how to tune it, or know where you can take it for tuning...it's going to be hard to determine what condition the motor is in w/ a improperly tuned engine...

..pull the plugs out and do a poor mans compression test...just make sure you hear three clear "whooshes" from each rotor!

Drive the car, and see how it responds..the fact that he says it acts up between 2200-5K means that he probably hasn't tuned the car AT ALL. Most standalone EMSs will come w/ a startup map that allow you to start the car and mope it around some til you get it tuned, but if driven, can cause damage...
