Need Help With 1988 Mazda Fc3s
ok this is whats wrong i got a 1988 mazda RX-7 and it did not have any coils wire and spark plugs.
oh and a battery
so i get all those things first the battery. i put it in and with no plugs or coils or wires i turn it over and it does just fine to weird noice or any thing i do it for about 6 seconds. i fell a hint of fuel not alot. then i install the coils wires and plugs OEM NGKs from O O O O'reilys. i put them on like the book said.
then i get in the car turn it over and it rotates but thats it. i won't turn on.
so as i turn it over i look at the gauges and no lights come on. but all the turn signals head lights wipers horn work.
i look and check the OHMs on the coils and 1.0 leading and 1.0 trailing.
there getting 12.46 volts but no spark out of them. and when i put it in the on position it does not purge.im not sure where to look or what to look for to see if everthing is connected or done right. the car sounds good turning over but won't start.
CAN ANYONE HELP ME PLEASE
THANK YOU

so you are not getting spark?
first off the fuel smell would indicate the motor is flooded with fuel. remove the EGI fuse from the engine bay fuse box it's 30A i believe. Then remove teh spark plugs and crank the motor over. This will force all the collected fuel in the engine out of the spark plug holes. Put some rags infront of hte plug holes.

Now spin the engine over, do it several times.
So now the engine is deflooded.
How to diagnose no spark.
Check 12V at coil
Check connection going to coil. Measuere resitance between coil and igniter (the silver box the coil is secured onto.
Check igniter signal.
Check crank angle sensor (harder to do) - follow Factory service manual for correct procedure
this is ofcourse u've done the obvious and checked that the sparkwires are plugged into the correct spark plugs and all right?

the EGI Comp fuse is a 40A fuse. Do everything he said. tkae out the plugs crank for a few, Throw the fuse back in and start. It will idle ruff , it might need ure help to keep the revs up from dying. Then sometimes when u let go of the gas the car will idle to stop then when u start it up again it will reset itself, rev up to 2k Rpm then come back down after a few seconds to 750-1000 Rpms
