SUP ALL I RESENTLY STARTED BUILDING MY RX7 TURBO PROJECT.

IT CONSISTS OF A LARGE HOLSET TURBO, 2 550 CC PRIMERIES

, 2 1600CC SECONDARIES, A WALBRO 255 FUEL PUMP ,A GATO RACING

MADE MANIFOLD ,AND A KILO BUILT MOTOR FRESH WITH LIKE 1000 OR SO MILE

ALL NEW ....OH YEAH .THE MOTOR IS STREET PORT AND POLISHED... HERE ARE

SOME PICTURES. I WOULD REALLY WELCOME SOME InPUT ON WHAT YOU

GUYS THINK ... MY PLAN IS IS TO MAKE A GOOD 450 OR MORE AT 20 TO 25 PSI

OH YEAH THIS A FOR DRAG RACING ...IN CASE YOU GUESS THINK THE TURBO IS TOO BIG

did that come from a truck? https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...#>/biggrin.gif

nice man

Aurosting 05-02-2007 08:23 PM

yeah it came from a cummings disel trunk

GreyGT-C 05-02-2007 08:30 PM

my "guess" would be that it's gonna be laggy as hell unless you spray it. Is the car a manual or auto?

sen2two 05-03-2007 10:32 AM

no pics of the 4 inch down pipe???

WNT2CREALPAIN 05-03-2007 11:06 AM

Yeah very nice but I bet it's going to be laggy too.

And for your sig... the fc you posted will be your favorite and fastest? https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...#>/biggrin.gif

teknics 05-03-2007 03:15 PM

woo woo all aboard, first stop lag city.

kevin.

Aurosting 05-03-2007 05:20 PM

the rx is 5 speed ... yeah it will be laggy on the street... but my setup is meant for the track.... standing still its seems to push pretty good....i will see how bad the lag is when i start driving it.im planning to run some sort of 2 step for boost and rpm to try and keep it spooled...i mainly picked this turbo beacause it was at hand and some day i would love to go semi peripheral or full peripheral

teknics 05-03-2007 05:40 PM

diesel turbos are used to a whole different type of powerband.

it should work tho, ill wait for a dyno before any judgment lol.

you trying for the 20psi on pump gas or 116? meth injection? what type of tires you gonna use, definitely need something bigger then what you got if youre looking for 450whp.

and you might as well chuck the a/c and p/s since its a pain to run a front mount with them, and if its meant for drag less weight = better.

also it doesnt look like you have any aftermarket FPR? and what ecu?

kevin.

rotary_pwr 05-03-2007 05:51 PM

err in short, its a little on the big side, even for drag racing. it'll take you a while to spool up. how long? take for ex. this video (listen and watch how long it takes for his to spool up):

http://www.autofilmy.info/samochody/turboe....html?Itemid=34

btw in the video thats not even a Honda ITR, its just some old school DA Integra.

the exhaust pulse of a rotary is a lot stronger then that of a 4banger.

kevin.

Aurosting 05-06-2007 10:40 PM

yeah i want so run 20 to 25 psi on gas...but if things dont go well ill change to racing gas...i plan to run a small front mount intercooler to help with the boost lag...the car is running a 4" downpipe thanks to nero(keith) aka sen2two for making it and 3" from the drive shaft back i plan to change it all 4 inch later on... from what i've seen i think it will do well more open the exhuast on an rx the better it works althought bigger exhuast is loader ...i also plan to use 1600 cc injector on a microtech not sure yet

Aurosting 05-10-2007 05:53 PM

HAS ANY ONE ON THIS FORUM DONE A SEMI PERIPHERAL BEFORE?

teknics 05-11-2007 12:09 PM

for info on motor setups, check out the rotary engine building section of the forums, theyve all done everything at least once.

kevin.

Aurosting 05-13-2007 05:53 PM

hey guys i decided to sell the set up and go smaller...

Aurosting 05-14-2007 05:56 PM

YEAH GUYS.... RIGHT NOW THE CAR IS RUNNING WITH THE TURBO AND IT DRIVES PRETTY GOOD ... IT FEELS LIKE A STOCK 91 NA RX7 UNTIL BOOST KICKS IN, AT 4500 .I HIT 8 PSI BECAUSE OF THE WASTEGATE.

WHEN THOSE 8 POUNDS HIT... WOW ...ITS LIKE 12 ON A STOCKER.

RIGHT NOW I HAVE A PANSPEED ECU,,A 3RD GEN FUEL PUMP, WITH 550 CC INJECTOR....EVERY THING IS S5 BUT THE MOTOR IS S4 STREET PORTED WITH 8.5 COMP

teknics 05-15-2007 08:05 PM

must....kill.....the....caps.....lock.....key

kevin.

Aurosting 05-18-2007 05:33 PM

boosted to death.....my bran new motor just died....

Aurosting 05-18-2007 05:33 PM

im thinking of selling every thing

Aurosting 05-18-2007 05:34 PM

ps 2 day before it in killed an evo 8 by a car and a fender and i was only boosting 8 psi

NotalesS 05-18-2007 09:42 PM

wow. TOO much boost? What happend?

ah, well i learned something new then. cool!

Aurosting 05-21-2007 02:47 PM

https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub..._DIR#>/dry.gif not too much boost, too much volume...i just opened it ...its a bit scary....every thing is white from how lean it got ....not too much damage though ....all the springs went flat and broke two apex seals...oh i need a housing now too.. https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...O_DIR#>/11.gif ...every thing ele is good,...................oh the bright side ...at 8 psi im an evo killer.......i beat one by 1 and 1/2 cars........ https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...DIR#>/wink.gif

teknics 05-21-2007 05:25 PM

yea that would be due to small injectors and no standalone, you made it longer then i predicted.

kevin./

RotaryRocket219 05-21-2007 05:44 PM

no standalone. with that turbo. asking for it. crazy mayyyynee

i bet it was fast though big ass turbo running nice and lean. haha. till it blew up. but it felt good till then im sure lol

Aurosting 05-21-2007 05:57 PM

lol...you guys now me well....i could not help my self from boosting it ....it is so addicting....at 8 psi which was 4500 to 4800 rpm https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...IR#>/blush.gif ...it was like wow unbelievable fast ...it went from 5k to like 9.5 k in like 2 to 3 second or so....it was hard to predict when to shift... ...i loved it...........im thinking of bridging it ...this time around.. and waiting for a stand alone... https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...#>/biggrin.gif https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...O_DIR#>/v2.gif

RotaryRocket219 05-21-2007 07:36 PM

do a big bridge with that turbo it will be insane!

Aurosting 05-22-2007 07:59 PM

i think this the end of this project.......i think im gona go back to n/a...............i give my self a c+ lol what can i say i should of waited for the standalone and injectors

more like an F- for giving up. theres not even a real F- grade but i just made that **** cuz quitting is gay

rehab is for quitters

haha you wanna be a quitter lindsey lohan? no, so pick up the straw chop a line and get it on!

teknics 05-23-2007 10:04 PM

yea welcome to the world of turbo rotary, and goodbye from the world of turbo rotary lol.

n/a's is a different world, i could beat the living **** out of my n/a in any condition and its still a champ, turbo rotaries need to be cared for, treated properl,y built porperly, and tuned correctly. when people dont do that, i wind up buying their cars for next to nothing and building it over from the ground up into a monster ala my fd haha/

I still can't believe you didn't just do a little more research on boosting a rotary. A standalone or a nice carb (blow through) setup is key to making the car reliable. **** it's really like that on any car. I would suggest not giving up and just wait and buy when you have the money. A bridge or even half bridge would make that turbo spool up at least a grand faster making it even more torquey than what you saw. Good luck with whatever you do but be sure to do alot of research before doing it again.

Aurosting 05-27-2007 02:15 PM

well i just found a megasquirt ecu for 400 (have not bought it yet though) it has the harnest for an s4 but i think i can get the s5 one ...i also today just got my new s4 rotors. im upping the compressin from 8.5 to 9.4 and i also just did a bridge port...im just waiting on my aviation seals.... ill post pic later today

Aurosting 05-27-2007 05:51 PM

yup.... here is the pic of my bridgy...its a little ruff of the edges

rear plate came out a little thin(thats the one with the rotor) but its still ok
