My tuner is wierd....
#1
Gday guys,
i have an interesting one for you.
i had my fc on the dyno after doing a rebuild and haltech E8 install.
the beast is running all good. i decided to check the settings my tuner put in the hal out of intrest.
under SETUP > TRIGGER> Trigg system - Multi tooth rotory (good)
Trigg sensor type - Reluctor (good)
Home sensor type- Reluctor (good)
Trigg sig edge - Rising (????)
Home sig edge - Rising (????)
Filters at 2 & 2 and gains at 0 (no probs)
now IGNITION SETUP> Lock Deg BTDC - -5
trailing split - 15
trigger angle - 77
tooth offset - 5
Spark mode- Distributor (good)
Spark edge - Falling & Falling (good)
Dwell - Constant & Constant (good)
Now from what i understand, i thought the trigger signal edges were supposed to be FALLING like he has it setup in the IGN page. Why would he have done this and can it make a differance??
Also, i inserted the CAS the "stock" way, so Trigger Angle to about 60BTDCs, Number of teeth to 24, and Tooth Offset to 11. i told him this and he just went and changed the tooth offset to 5. The timing is all lined up when we lock the thing to -5. so i dont think this makes much of a differance, any thoughts??
This guy has been tuning rotors for about 10 years so i thought all will fine, but after seeing these setting im wondering....
