Ok, Im slightly new to this whole rotary thing, so I descided to go out and buy a TII. Well, took her out today and tested the acceleration. Hit 5 grand in first, then my rib cage started to contract due to the G forces the car was making. Hit 7, slapped her into 2nd and the back end broke free and I started slipping back and forth on the road. Then I took it home..........to much ecitment for one day https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...IR#>/bigok.gif

Like Fixse Jr said any pics?Congrats and welcome to the forum. |
Heh, the car is actually a theft recovery vehicle. But the engine runs really stong even though it has 238k (Kilometers) on it. She has a full 3" exhaust and an intake. I think she is runnin' about 210 or more, need to tune her up a bit. I bought her for 4 G's Canadian, which is a damn good deal, there usually like 5 to 6 G's. But the sterio was ripped out and the interior and exterior need some work, but she moves, and thats all that matters https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...#>/biggrin.png

Im not sure if thats the actual amount of k's on the motor? But still. Here are some pics.

Yeah, get a new K & N filter or at least clean and re-oil the one you have, quick!!!!
It should be reddish-pink in color after re-oiling. |

Is there a specific type of oil that K&N supplies? Where can I get this oil?
Im sure they have a specific oil to use.Buy a new one and the oil probly comes along with it.I don't know for sure though you'd have to check on that. |
You can get it at Lordco. I think Crappy Tire also carries it. Get the spay can version, very easy to use.
What part of BC are you from? -Henrik |

I can't wait till I get my TII, I'm "stuck" with an FB until I can find one...I have plenty of money and I've had my eyes open for one for about 6 monthes, haven't found the right one yet *sigh*
|
Nice!!. I love black FC and FD's.
That actually could be the original mileage on it. If it was taken care of, and not always run into the ground, that engine could last another 10,000 miles. What are your plans or restoration doings? What do you want the car to do? Good buy though, and welcome to not just the world of boosted rotaries, but rotaries altogether. They are truly, addicting. |
You can get the K&N cleaning kits at just about any auto parts store. It has a spray soap that removes the old dirt and oil, then let it dry and spray on the oil and let it dry. Don't plan on driving the car for a while after you do this because it has to dry.

Bov, boost controller, boost and air/fuel gauge, and port wastgate. I have a full custom 3" exhaust, completely straight, so I think I need these to stop boost creep and comp serge. Once that is taken care of, rims, bodykit and paint, interior - carpets, seats, steering wheel. O, and an upgraded sterio system, nothing too fancy, wanna put like 8" subs in the stock wells or something. Pretty much that, and when these two years are up, then work on the engine https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...IR#>/bigok.gif . |
