I posted these in another members post and the post was deleted. Not sure if it was sensorship or a hickup so I thought I'd post them here just in case.... don't want to offend anyone.
Anyway, the fan is from vintageair.com and it's the 18" monster fan which is rated to move 3700 CFM. This is by far the nicest fan that I have seen, but at a cost of twice the black magic, I'd hope so. The blades are effeciently shaped so there is actually very little noise despite the volume of air that it moves. Better yet, the associated shoroud fits the dimension of the FC radiator (mazdacomp in my case) perfectly. A little molding to get around the water inlets and viola! Looks like it came from the factory. -Chris |
oooOOoooo shiny.....

One more pic. Oh, I realize there are other fans, junkyard etc.... I didn't want them. I wanted something that look very professional and showy to an extent. I didn't polish, plate and re-paint my engine bay for weeks to ruin it with a crappy looking fan.

You have the best efan setup I have ever seen. I just need to make a shroud like yours, but use those little flapper doors like Jim.

the flapper doors are used on perfectly flat shrouds because with them the flat part blocks all airflow. with a concave (or convex depending on angle of view) shroud such as that there is air coming from all parts of the radiator at all times being pushed into the main fan area. those flaps would be detrimental on a shroud setup such as this. kevin. |
How fast does the car go in neutral with the fan on? https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...#>/biggrin.png
Nice engine bay Chris! https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...IR#>/bigok.gif |

Nice engine bay Chris! https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...IR#>/bigok.gif Thanks Tyson. FWIW, vintage air has several other fan shouds of different sized etc... I believe that some are generic and you cut out the circle for your particular fan size. It's ABS plastic, pretty durable, and shines like crazy as you can see in the second pic. -Chris |
god damn! i could probably eat off of that it is so clean. that is one of the nicest engine bays i have seen and one of the nicest e fan setups too.

holy **** there's a helicopter in your engine! https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...#>/biggrin.png
