Well the other day I was doing a donut/ burn out in my rx7. While driving away I noticed my rear end acted like a locker. it wouldnt turn w/o chirping and binding. I decided to drive it to work today to see if it would free itself up, instead I believe I either stripped the ring or pinion gear. It barely made it up my drive way, it just slipped and would catch all of a sudden as if i broke half the teeth off. My question is do you think I should go for a junkyard rear end or rebuild the one I have. Personally Id like more bottem end so if I decide to rebuild the one I have does anyone have a recomendation on a ratio or a brand as well as a place to buy one. Any answer is greatly appriciated, my car is stuck till its fixed.

get a used rear end and stop doing donuts

you will pay a fortune for the parts to rebuild yours, and another $400+ for a ring and pinion, and in the

end you will still have a N/A rear.

i have 2 spare rear subframes compleat with diffs and axels just for customers who abuse there na cars. seen a few come my way that where broken. just replace the diff with a used one as your lookin at a **** load of money if you want to rebuild with either factory parts or aftermarket man. pm me if you are interested in one of my spares i have.

You'll love the immediate pick up in acceleration. But highway driving will suffer a little bit. Good find.

Yea I should have a noticable difference, here are the changes im doing in the next week: (going from a bone stock RX7)

Im going from a 4.10 rear end to a 4.88

The guy gave me a FC1000 ignition system

Racing beat headder stright piped back to a borla catback system

and removing about 650 lbs of subwoofer and batteries, hahahahaha

I used it for car audio competitions, haha i dont know anyone else with a wall and two 18"s in an rx7 =]

ohh and i just removed the stock air box and slapped a cone filter on there..
