I seem to have a lot of driveline shudder. It is happening with on/off throttle transitions (sprited driving and normal), starting from a dead stop on inclined roads too! It gets bad enough that i think it is causing misalignment in the transmission, causing me to grind the syncros (1-2 and 2-3 up/down shifts)
Could this be the problem? And how hard is it to change the motor, tranmission and diff mounts, on a scale of 1-10 my grammar sucks. if need be i'll rephase it |
yeah get a strut bar lol https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...IR#>/blink.png

just because of the lack of response, I'll post a half-assed answer
only going by what I've read and heard, bad u-joints in the drive line can cause a clunking when power is transferred to the wheels. Also, I've read that if the tranny mounts are bad, or the differential mounts are bad, those elements can twist, causing noise. Now someone better speak up, because I could very well be mistaken. |
A tunk on acceleration /decelleration is USUALLY indicative of a broken front Diff mount
|
also look at your tranny mount, there is a big washer that should be flush with the crossmember part, if its not its bad. that might contribute to the rubber bandy feeling

its actually a shuddering feeling....and i fail to tell you that my clutch SCREAMS when it does this
its actually makes a high-pitched noise, no **** |
When I bought my 89 after about 100 miles or so I developed a similar shudder, my driveline was out of balance. After having it serviced it was smooth as glass...
|
you might be "chattering" the clutch... IE the pressure plate is slipping and bouncing off the flywheel.... try puting the car on rear jackstands and go through the gears.....

do you fell a loss off power when it shudders?
