I am considering purchasing a 91 that needs some work. The owner says that the car shuts off in mid drive! He says that it sparks when this happens. It is a automatic transmition. Does any one have an idea what this might be? Electrical, Trans?

It sparks? I'm not sure what he ment by this, but it can be as easy as a loose negative battery terminal, or as complicated as a wire shorting out. It sounds electrical. You'll need to get more info on the "sparking"
