Well, I have the new engine in the car and everything is up and running.. mostly. She runs great except that the emissions are horrible and it stumbles some at idle. It smells like the car is running very rich. There is a large exhaust leak. Could this cause the problem? I also lost my timing light so the timing might be a little off. Ill fix that this afternoon. Could bad timing cause the problem?

I have done all of the engine grounding and adjusted the TPS. I am having no hesitation/bucking/drivability problems at all. The ECU has no errors.

Any ideas as to what I should check out?

Thanks

Andy

theres a sensor in the bottom of the radiator than basically turns on the emissions system. or to put it another way it wont run in closed loop without that sensor. apparently sometimes the wires get pinched under the battery box. its just and on off switch too.

yes, it turns on the o2 sensor, without that you're loosing gas mileage for no reason.
