Aight I'm new at rotarys so I don't have tha slightlest idea what tha metering pump supposed to do!

I know it has four plastic hoses and four valves..



My question is do tha valves need to b connected to vaccumes for them to work?? Or do I realy need that whole system period?!



If any1 can give me a heads up bout it I will realy appreciate it.

 

In order for them to work properly they need a little air to flow through them to help the oil sort of spray out instead of dribble. In the S5 system the oil nozzles are actually hooked up to the air pump to spray the oil a little better. If you do away with the pump system you MUST run 2-cycle oil in you gas. The apex seals need the lubrication one way or another.

That's correct, it needs to be on there and functioning, or you need to premix. Or you could just break your motor, choice is yours!

 

Well my system looks like is connected with tha oil pump and it actuates by using a prebent metal bar that connects to tha throtle and tha vaccume hoses are connected to tha intake manifold.



But thanx now I know to leave them where they at. I was ready to eliminate tha whole system I'm glad I hit you guys up first.

 

You would also have to bypass the "limp mode". The ecu (at least on the S5's, don't know about the S4's) will switch you over if it detects a problem.

Basically, you have a driven pump screwed to the front of the motor. For every revolution, it displaces a tiny amount of oil that's trickled into your engine. The prebent rod is the gain for the pump because pumping losses increase at high speed. You would normally get less oil per rev, which would be bad for the seals, so the rod gives you more oil per rev as you open the throttle more.



Like they said, air is then used to mist the oil as well.

buty anyways my motor is back on tha car looking a bit cleaner than tha old 1 without them emmisions junk n tha help of a lil engine degreaser.

i had a problem with tha idle, i had a broken manifold gasket but i got help on that now tha car sounds great n feels great!
