If you lean it out to much or richen it too much it will cuase problems but im not sure excactly how far it will let you adjust it with the switch.

Sep - I'll be honest with you htat the R/L swith is all the way to the R. I just don't want to adjust it myself without having someone there that has worked on RX-7s and knows what they're doing. i'd be afraid of messing up.

Lanny - i'm not sure. I haen't seen either of it. But I could be wrong?

white smoke most likely is oil.... black smoke is most likely fuel ie leaking injectors..... pull the sparkplugs.... do you see oil or excess soot? pull the EGI fuse under fuse block under hood drivers side... hold a paper towel by the 4 sparkplug holes now try to start the car... now look at the paper towel to see what is blown out of the chambers it would be best it you wait till it gets cold where it would normally smoke at start up... it takes two people to do this but it is an easy way to see what your motor is burning!!!!!

take it down just a little then just to get it a little leaner i beleive the last time i looked at mine it was just at a slight angle from mid way toward rich. If you have some sort of a/f guage ypu can use then do that.

I dont feel like going to that link, but why did you adjust that screw anyhow?

Its sealed from the facory for a reason, it shouldnt be touched unless something

else went wrong.

OK, I went to that link after all, turn the screw back to where it was,

hopefully you know where it was, and leave the car alone, a little smoke on s

start-up is normal, keep your eyes on the coolant level, and oil level. Our cars are no spring chickens, some smoke is to be expected, maybe take it a little easier on the car for now on.
