ls1 coils
im looking to use four ls1 coils, you can get all four for about 50-100 bucks.
i have seen it done a few times before. but are they better than the stock FC coils?
they will be used on a renesis, but i will be using the 86-91 CAS for ignition.
anyone know how to wire these in, or if its even better?

what ecu are you going to use?
on a rotary the ls1 coils fire twice as much as on a piston engine (once in 360 degrees, instead of once every 720) this is kinda bad
fc coils might be a better choice, just for that reason.

at high rpm the rotary has half the time to charge the coil as a v8 does. plus its firing twice as much, so it'll be hotter than the v8
they do work, but long term the fc coils would prolly be better

You can use FC coils with a megasquirt.
What Mike is saying is, vette coils on an FC is going to be 200% duty cycle. Obviously vette coils should be used at 100% duty cycle, not 200%. In contrast, FC coils on a vette would be 50% duty cycle. FC coils on an FC is 100% cycle. Better mod would be FC coils on the vette.
Weren't FD guys stalking FC parts for sale to get FC coils on their FD? FC coils were pretty awesome, I thought.
