Its time to set my 87 se up with lowering springs since the addition of 17" rims sits my car higher than i like it..... (Plus the city I live in installed a wicked corner up on our main strip that I would like to catch g force when i carve around.



Heres what Ive been looking at...



Tanabe Sustec GF 210s I can get em around $160+shipping for the whole set, 1" - 1.25" drop?....



Or



Suspension Techniques, $140 shipped, 1.25" to 1.50" drop.



I choose these because of the low price and the drop I would like.

I have heard a few things about the ST springs being a little too saggy but also heard otherwise.

I have 215/45zr17 loaded on my 17" rims, what amount of drop would be best?

Any imput would be appreciated!

i woudl go with the ST springs, also get shocks if you already dont have them

car wont drop much i assume, your stock springs are prolyl already sagged somewhat, so its prolyl gonna be about an inch maybe even less that the car will get lowered, if u want more go with an adjustable coilover, thought i dont think u want the car too low, the st springs are just tall enouf. i have been in a car with tanabes and i dont think i liked it too much this was a while ago.

 

i heard tanabe has a no sag guarantee. but anyways, tanabe i would think has better quality. heck all they do is work on japanese cars suspension and now exhausts.

 

Oh BTW, I have Tanabe Springs on my car.

 

The ST springs for $140 is a killer deal, hell that's below my cost LOL

If you're getting new shocks too, make sure they can handle whatever drop you're doing with the springs. I don't know the reality of it, but the instructions that came with my KYB AGX's had warning against pairing them with springs that went too low for the shocks to do their job.

i have intrax springs on my car for the time until i swap my ground control over to it. But I love the ride with the intrax setup. It's a progressive spring rate, that's softer on cruising but won't let the body roll too much on hard cornering. I'm very impress with them. I think the drop is like 2"s too. Most of any spring.

Drop is too low - be prepared to get a rear camber adjust bar to get rid of all that nasty negative camber in the rear.



Intrax springs are EVIL on an FC.

They should be ILLEGAL.
