Hey guys, nobody could tell me what could be wrong.. in the gears 1-4 and RPM from 3000-7000 i have a steady oil-pressure of 60psi (+/- 5psi). but ONLY in 5th Gear and highspeed drive (4000-7000rpm) it keeps dropping! at 3000rpm i have almost 65psi, at 4000 55psi at 5000 only 50, 6000rpm 45psi.

The engine has done this before the rebuild, we checked all oil-lines and gaskets and stuff. it seemed all perfect, the oilpump was like new out of the box. i really dont know why the oil-pressure drops during highspeed runs. Could it be the Pressure Regulator?

any advise will be appreciated.

thanks, z

did you check the bypass springs , thermo pellet, is your engine full of oil? could be a pic up issue crossed with oil slosh,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,, just tossing out some ideas.

How about the oil pressure transducer (sending unit)? It is located near the oil filter (under it - I think) & they supposedly have a high failure rate.......Just something to look into.

The stock gauges are not known to be the most accurate, so an aftermarket gauge and sender unit would be best.

Also, what speed are you going at 5000RPM in 5th, lol - I hope this on the dyno or closed track! With your other mod list, you should also look into bumping up your oil pressure...

i'm thinking the oil's foaming or getting way hot or something... if thats the case a baffle plate would help

1st step though is to verify that the pressure actually is dropping...

oh ans while you have the pan off, the FD oil pressure regulator is a good upgrade, and its cheap
