Like the title says. There's a older guy around here selling his white S5 GTU. he started off asking $6,500 and droped it again. what would this car be worth? thinking of buying it but have never payed more than $800 for any car, so I don't know what a decent price would be for this car.

BTW, have seen this car and heard it run. its LOUD AS HELL, Upgraded clutch, 2+2, and does look nice inside and out.

looks nice and clean from the pics, if he produces reciepts for

the engine work and other crap its worth the money depending

on the rest of the car and the interior.

You can get cheaper cars, but they will probably need alot more work

then that one.

$5800 is a little steep, but it looks like a clean car, go over and talk to him cuz its so close, lowball it. Then wait a few weeks, if he still hasn't sold it, ur offer will start looking better and better. Personally, i'm not a fan of a 2+2 but it looks really good, how many miles are on the body, and how many miles are on the "fresh" motor???

I don't think he has them, previous owner did all this work. I'm kind of iffy about it. he said it's "too loud" for him and thats why he's selling it. He's had the white car maybe 4 months and last I talked to the guy he was trying to sell either the white one or the red 87 GXL and he wanted 3300 for the GXL (but he does take care of his cars)

The car has been up for sale for over 3 months.

From the looks of it its really clean from the out side. Personally i wouldn't pay more than 3,000 for a seven but on the other hand if i was selling it i wouldn't sell it for less than 3,500 because of the well maintained body. And its a S5 GTU. I got lucky, i bought a 88 S4 GTU with 118,000 on the originall engine for 1,500.. reason he sold it so cheat was cause he was driving a benz SUV.... right now my seven is just siting there waiting for me to drop the 89 TII engine

Oh, forgot to mention, there seems to be a leak from somewhere. (he made a comment a few weeks ago about water gathering on the floor board for the back seats) When it rains. So, most of the year water would be bulding up in the car since it rains damn near every day here.

I wouldn't pay more than 3 - 3500 for the car without receipts. That is even with taking it somewhere and getting a compression test.

Good luck!
