What is the proper and best way to lauch the TII? https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...R#>/unsure.png

RX7Aggie 09-14-2003 03:06 PM

slip the clutch at 4500 rpm

or you can drop it at 4000 rpm, get wheel spin and hop, and risk breaking something

or you can use a mix of both, use the slip to get it going, and then drop it all the way.

BigTurbo74 09-14-2003 05:25 PM

really? i get wheel hop droppin it at 3000, and i have stock n/a. feathering it does work best tho

Travisty 09-14-2003 05:47 PM

please do there's many mustangs out there.

MazdaEnthused 09-14-2003 09:08 PM

yea i've got the best launches at about 3k but i've felt latly that, that isn't enough.... so i think i'm gonna start launching at about 4-4.5k

vosko 09-14-2003 09:10 PM

i tried today with turborotors car. best method was ride the clutch at 5k rpm then dump it zero hop and some spin but it spools the turbo nice!

1Revvin7 09-14-2003 09:13 PM

Just have enough power where you can be easy on the car, and BLAST through 2nd/3rd like no tommorrow.. https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...#>/biggrin.png Thats my philosophy

MazdaEnthused 09-14-2003 09:14 PM

that is a good philosophy indeed

isn't that kinda in accurate though since Carlos' car has much more HP than stock..

basically have clutch engaged halfway so it slips and doesn't do a burnout https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...DIR#>/wink.png

you need to launch an rx7 with 100 hp or 500hp the same way so you don't break stuff and get a good time. it is harder with more power though. i usually just dump the clutch but his car likes to hop actually most T2's do!

75 Repu 09-14-2003 10:42 PM

ohh.. I see.. well. even though my times were slo.. I did get my best 60 ft. when I slipped the clutch..

**Slap** ouch..

There I did you the favor..

roadkill669 09-14-2003 11:36 PM

Dump at 5K worked the best for me. Only 6psi and bad shocks. I'm at 15 psi, no clutch, and still bad shocks, so I don't know.

4RotorRocket 09-14-2003 11:45 PM

Sweet sig

MazdaEnthused 09-15-2003 03:20 PM

i'm gonna start trying 4-4.5k i think maybe i'll go to a parking lot and try diferant ways to launch

vosko 09-15-2003 03:39 PM

dumping works depending on your clutch and tires and suspension...........

UniqueTII 09-15-2003 04:42 PM

I used to dump the clutch at 6500 on the street and take off with no wheelspin. I guess that's the magic of bad rear shocks and a $400 pair of tires.

MazdaEnthused 09-15-2003 05:54 PM

yea my tires are so shot its not even funny... and my suspension seems to be fine... but i dont know what a normal good working t2 suspension feels like

FrestyleFC3S 09-15-2003 08:58 PM
