Just pulled the A/c out. I did not get the stuff behind the dash just under the hood.

I weighed it all and it tipped the scale at 29 lbs.

Next is to put back in the dry cell bettery it weighs 11 lbs vs. the 45 lbs battery in the car. Thats another 34 lbs out.

Then I am pulling the seats and getting a lightweight drivers seat. I have no clue how much weight that will save. I shall find out though.

Some pics:

Before A/c removal - this pic was taken the day I got her back from Pettits.

sweet

the stock seats are pretty heavy, my gxl leather drivers seat was 38 lbs.

theres also the bumper supports and tow hooks, which you might not care about removing if it's strictly an autox car.

Nope, its a street car that I autocross with. It does very well for a street car. Especially since it weighs about 300 lbs more than min. weight.

The bumper supports really don't weight that much. The added saftey makes them worth keeping.

Air pump is gone. That is a pulley on a bracket to take the place of the air pump. I am going to get the Pettit pully kit installed in a week or so. To help clean it up further,

hrm, a friend removed his and said it was at least 20lbs. Fluid dynamics posted in the weight of individual parts thread that the bumper support is 25lbs.

thats alot of weight hanging off the end of the car.

For a car that is tracked only, I agree. Not for a car that is street driven. Too many idiots on the roads.
