JUST GOT RX7
MY QUESTION IS - WHERE DO I START ??? WHAT DO I CHECK FOR FIRST TO GET THIS THING RUNNING ??? I GOT THE CAR TO TURN OVER, AND THATS IT ! I HEAR ALOT OF INTERFERANCE IN THE RADIO SPEAKERS WHEN I CLOSE THE POWER ROOF AND USE OTHER OPTIONS, AND WHEN I TURN THE KEY TO ACCESORY, THE TACK JUMPS TO 3000 AND ITS NOT EVEN RUNNING ???
I WOULD APPRECIATE ANY HELP GUYS, TO TRY AND GET THIS THING RUNNING, OR AT LEAST KNOW WHERE TO START TROUBLESHOOTING.
THANK FOR THE SPACE, I WILL SELL THE CAR FOR 1K , IF I CAN FIGURE IT OUT, MARK.
first do the atf trick--you'll find directions in here somewhere... then either
A) pull start it with another car pulling it or...
B) disconnect the wiring coupler (which powers the fuel pump) by sitting in the driver seat and reaching foreward under the dash with your right hand and pulling down on a 2wire by 3 wire coupler (there should only be 5 wires going through it the blue one is the fuel pump). After disconnecting this turn over the engine a few times to purge the atf and gas then remove the leading spark plugs-clean them/replace them, then reconnect the coupling (under dash) and try to start engine (with your fingers crossed)
If your car is an automatic you can't pull start it.
I bought a 86 GXL and had to do this myself earlier this year.
