Long story short, after 3 weeks of swapping parts from the blown S4 motor to my S5 J-Spec short-block...we got my car running today!! BUT not without problems of course! :]

Problems:

Idle is unstable and for when it for whatever reason IS stable, it sits at 1,500 and the idle screw is at tight as it can get. Is it the TPS?

The oil-pressure gauge jumps past the 110 mark as soon as you turn the key to ON....now there's no way in hell that's accurate. My brother thinks that the oil-sending unit is messed up, and that's what other rotary heads have told him to be a common problem in RX7's.

The battery is not being recharged by the alternator. Possible reasons: Ground wire not hooked up, faulty alternator, or is there any other reason why the battery is not being charged? My brother will be checking it out tomorrow with a volt-meter, so we'll find out..

On my T3/T4 turbo, with no boost controller, the stock boost is at 4psi. Is that normal? I'm happy it's low, cause it's safe, but I was just wondering...it's not really a PROBLEM...lol, just a valid question, ye know?

Also, IMPORTANT QUESTION: Just how much freaking boost can the S5 core handle in the first place? I do have the S5 J-Spec core, with the OMP, and everything else switched to S4. An ECU with a fuel-cut defencer already programmed into it, a brand new Walboro 255 fuel pump, and some RC Engineering Blue-Printed and Balanced Injectors.

This is usually a wire that was grounded by accident by the oil sending unit. Look for little black wire by the orange or yellow wire going ot the sending unit. Sometimes it has a little black box, if it gets broken and grounds, you get that problem.
