so i got a GP Sports exhaust, and it's horribly loud.

i've been thinking about buying an ECV for a while and the sizes available don't seem to match the size i need.

i got a non turbo so everything down to the rear of the cat is 2.5 inches, and the GP piping is 3 inches. now the catch is that the flange on the GP Sports pipe (where it bolts on to the cat) is also 2.5 inches but it bumps up to 3 inch piping the rest of the way back.

all the ECV's are measured in millimeters, and if i were to get the flange type, it means i need a 63.5mm. i can't find that anywhere, and my luck isn't any better with the pipe type. should i get the next size up and hope for the best? has anyone else had a really loud non turbo? i'm getting pulled over a lot for it and it's pretty frustrating.

btw, the cat's hollow. it just LOOKS legit :]

your best bet is a 60mm unit. but why go threw all that trubble when you can just put in a presilencer and the car will come down to a tolerable Db. mazdatrix and racingbeat both sell them. or you can do what i did, weld a borla xr-1 muffler into a test pipe and run that. my car came down in Db to a tolerable note and is quiet silent outside the car when not in load and only slightly noticable underload. my egts have seen 1700deg and i have not bunrt up the muffler yet. good luck. randy

I was thinking the same thing. I used a BONZ pipe for my presilencer (Very THICK) and holds up well to the Rotary's Fire. Followed by a Single DynoMax Muffler. My Exhaust is all 2-1/2 but I've mine's a Turbo. When I had a N/A and Header, it took 2 mufflers PLUS the BONZ pipe to keep it quiet. Sounded like a NASCAR the first time I fired it up. I knew that would draw too much attention.

I would not waste a ton of money on trying to get it quiet! I have tried everything, and mine is just about the quietest I have ever run into, and I have a 3 inch aero turbine under the center of the car, two bullets out past the axle and two mac flow paths at the back... its still pretty loud though.
