If I pull my intake on my 88' N/A do I need to drain the coolant first?

I guess what I am asking is there coolant flowing through the intake manifold?

vosko 08-04-2002 11:26 PM

there is coolant flowing through the throttle body and BAC. just undo the rad cap to unpressurize the system you will get a little coolant. if you want you can drain the whole thing but its not really necessary

None down at the lower manifold then?

vosko 08-04-2002 11:35 PM

not on my TII. i assume the N/A will be the same

Not on an NA. TII's have coolant going through the lower manifold.

So you never took a LIM off of one of those Jspecs?

i did on my blown engine that i pulled out. that was a while ago and there was coolant and oil EVERYWHERE. it was hard to tell where it came from https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...#>/biggrin.png

Water flows through the LIM for the turbo. That's why the TII rotor housings have those extra holes.

Thinking of that 13BAce do those things ever spring a leak?
