well, after spending $10 on a crappy midus weld, drilling and tapping a hole, i have finally installed my EGT sensor. the gauge has just been sitting there, in my car, stuck at 300 deg for the past month, so getting this in is a good thing.

assuming my exhaust hangers and donuts come in by friday from mazdatrix, i should be able to install my exhaust on friday.

cool!

I noticed my car has a warning light for exhaust temp. What's the deal with that? I don't remember seeing a sensor or anything.

The higher EGt usually means a lean mixture(more air than gas). But timing also has an effect on EGTs so the AFR would also help.

actual temperature depends on the location of the sensor. the further down stream from the exhaust ports, the more it will cool and change.

yeah, tapping was easier than i thought, although the NPT taps are a pain b/c of the taper. oh well, its in good, and ups came by today, i was at work, so they should be there tomorrow

that means exhaust hangers are in, as will my exhaust by this weekend

as for the crappy weld, oh well, as long as it holds, it should be fine. better than what i could do, i'm sure.
