yeah get the turbo.. my na handles great but i hve to put too much effort into beating integras... shifting at 8000 just to beat a riced integra is fun at first but gets tiring
|
hmm, I shift at 8000 during normal driving, maybe I should ease up a bit.
|
hehe nah.. the rotary loves its... its like exercise for the engine lol which is fine as log as you can afford the gas
|
So I gather that the turbo also makes a good daily driver....but if I'm worried about cost, (maintanence and upgrades, not initial cost) is it still the best choice?
|
Almost everyone I know with a TII has had a reliable daily driver...before going crazy with mods and turning up the boost.
Mine runs low 14s at the track, gets 23 mpg on the highway, only breaks when I'm retarded. |
mine blewup because i was drag racing it twice a week. at the end i was running 15+ psi..........
|
you can supercharge it and will not kill engine life, byt only run about 8psi

U could say the same thing about a turbo engine, just run it at low boosts, then if u wanna play crank it up. Psi is Psi no matter if it comes from a turbo or SC. The car is already setup for a turbo and has a turbo model so there would be no point to putting a SC in it, unless u want to be different and like to fab things up yourself. But its kind of pointless to be that fast with all that $$ later.. |

Have you ever driven a TII? I'm guessing no, because most people who have wouldn't ask questions like this. https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...DIR#>/wink.png
However I drove another TurboII a friend did the brakes on at his work after bullshitting with the owner... 1-2 shift on boost put the car sideways, can't say i've had that problem in my NA. |
I had a NA automatic, and when it got backed into, I was more than willing to take the insurance money and get a turbo II. I did just that, and I love it. Sure, it cost a lot to rebuild the engine, but my mechanic said as long as I dont mod the crap out of it with too much boost, I should expect another 100,000 mi.
With my 86 NA, I always drove it like it was fast, but it wasn't. Especially with an auto, I always got beat off the line. There's no replacement for the feeling when the turbo kicks in, and that sound. Pretty nice for a daily driver, expecially since I'm running about 7 psi and have beat an impreza and a mustang 5.0. What other car can you say that about? GO TURBO II. |
