heres what happened. I was driving and all of a sudden my lights started to dim and eventually the car stopped. so, naturally, I thought it was the alternator. So I go get the alternator fixed and the darn car doesnt start. We looked at everything (the people who looked at the car weren't rotary experts). because we had no idea what it could be, we concluded it had to be the computer. So I got a new computer and the car still wont start. apparently, the car is getting no spark. What do you guys think the problem may be?

remove the spark plugs, crank the car over to clear out the fuel that is in the rotor housings, put new , proper plugs in and she will prolly fire right up , also put the old computer in the car as it most likly is not the problem

strange...

i wouldnt think flooding would have this type of effect...

almost sounds like a charging system problem, but thats been checked...

the only insight i can give, is maybe check the grounds... maybe one broke/came loose

RX7_blues 04-09-2007 11:38 PM

Im not getting any spark. what are all the things you need to check for if your not getting spark?

silver86 04-09-2007 11:53 PM

the coil packs them selfs... its been a while, but i think theres a fuse...

lemmie check my FSM

I would check all the fuses and clean the grounds first (you'd be surprised the problems a corroded ground will cause) next check the plugs and wires. sometimes wires loosen themselves up over time...(due to vibration,etc...) keep a eye out for any torn/corroded/messed up wires. or any connection that mightve gotten loose.-

low battery voltage = flooding = no spark

RX7_blues 04-10-2007 03:56 PM

what if I have a battery charger hooked up to it while Im trying to start it?

RONIN FC 04-10-2007 04:52 PM

Wet plugs wont spark.

Trying to start it with a dead or low battery will likely flood it. Worn rotaries need to turn fast to start.

Search unflood in the FAQ section.

I just noticed something.

What does you being a "gal" have to do with your car problems? You can leave the "gal", "girl", and anything else you can think of out. We would all still help you...
