are you blowing the spark out with your 500hp motor? I dont **** with ignition until its nessessary to.

You guys need to take a basic electronics class and learn about "air gap".

The biggest resistance in the "circuit" is the air gap in the spark plug.

Now, take a DMM and measure the air gap at what your plugs are running - about 0.030"?

Wow, you can't measure it?

So tell me how lowering the spark plug wire resistance is going to overcome the HUGE air gap resistance?

It can't.

This is why all the bullshit about our-spark-plug-wires-make-more-power is exactly that...bullshit.

Add combustion pressure and fuel swirling around, and it gets that much harder to fire off a spark under those conditions.

Anyone who claims to get better spark with shorter wires is smoking GOOD QUALITY CRACK.

psyclo's point is the most relevant here.

The power for the spark comes directly from the primay relay, to the ignitor, to the coil.

Compared to most cars of it's time the stock RX-7 has a really strong spark.

Tweaking with wire gauge, length & resistance will make only a small change in the net spark energy at the plug tip.

Too much power through the coils & ignitors will run their temps up & shorten their life.

wont that advance the timing? and longer ones retard it? https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...1047683785.gif

like what i said before , dont **** with it. Doing that mod will only leave you stuck on the side of the road. Late for a hot date.

hotter spark ping!
