a little under being perfectly horizontal...the temp stays there while driving never moves unless it is going down in temp during a cool off or when i start it in the morning.

mine did/does that when the BAC (GM unit) is/was leaking, even if its not connected it might still leak, mine worked sometimes and sometimes not, i think maybe you should get a block off plate, if not that then maybe the gasket between the UIM and LIM or LIM to engine is leaking. That might also explain why your flames under idle reving are so large.

well when i shott hose flames i recorded my car was idlign perfectly at 750 rpm...perhaps revving to 8k caused a leak at the LIM/UIM?

ok im now thinking the tb mod was done to my car, how would i be able to figure this out?

also would a coolant leak (leaks enough to where im getting fluctuating temps i guess cause sometimes the coolant hits the sensor and sometimes it doesnt or something) make me idle high, its leak where the lower rad hose connects to the block and splits to a smaller line...the smaller line is leaking.

how would i tell if the plates are stuck? i know for a fact the thing the cable is connected to is in the fully closed position but its somehow still getting air obviously for it to idle that high.

and best way to tell if i have a leak at the uim/lim? spraying something i remember but what was it?

and new development, clutch depressed put shifter into any gear position idle sometimes jumps up 400-ish rpms take out of gear clutch still depressed and it drops down those 400rpm.

did this only happen with the onset of the cold weather? every year around this time (provided its cold) my n/a starts idleing high...and sometimes at intersections in neutral does the idle jump from 1000-1500...as if the TPS is messed up. But once the temps start to rise it disappears for another year.

Does the idle change after you've been driving it for 30-45 minutes?

idle seems to start trying to return to normal after about 30 miles but it isnt steady it just sometimes will drop to about 1100 but then will go back to 2k idle.
