The main difference is the VDI manifold. S4 intake manifold looks like all equal length, while s5 sort of has 2 short and 2 a little longer.

Lee already answered that in the 5th post, if its a 89 it is a S5

s5 means 89-91 year 2nd gens. So if you have an 89 then its an s5.
