I have a minor problem with the idiot lights in the top of the dash board along with the shift light. They all turn on except for the hand brake light and the seat belt light, they always work. The lights do work, however, when they aren't all on. It switches back and forth randomly. Does anyone have any idea where the electronic control unit is or how to fix this problem? Any help would be appreciated. Thank you.

Okay, if I understood you correctly, the idiot lights occasionally go into the startup test mode (all lights stay on)?

If so, there are two possible problems. The first is with the CPU (not the ECU). This is located on the driver's side of the car, under the dash, behind the 'kick panel'. Pull it out (the CPU). In it, there are a number of relays. Clean the contacts of all the relays and that should fix the problem (did for me). If it doesn't, the other problem could lie with your alternator. Check the 2 pin plug in the back of it is making a good contact.
