Thats not alot for a battery, the Gold was $87 plus tax, I ALWAYS buy the DieHard gold, 3 year full replacement and a 100 month warranty. But for the Lexus, a silver will be fine, the original battery was only 500 CCA I believe. I left my seven sitting over the winter for 2 months with the alarm on, and the thing fired right up no problem, its 900+ CCA I believe. I used to get the Exide 1000, but since Exide was bought out a few years ago, the battery isnt what it used to be.

I had a 68 LeSabre with an Optima in it. I left the headlights on for over 5 hours once, the car started right up.

Besides I couldnt go the local Sears and get a Optima, lol. Thats the good thing about having a car as transportation- you dont get as crazy with it, I would have driven all over Long Island to all the Sears to get the battery I want for my seven.

Just don't forgot. Power costs HP. A Higher wattage alternator will require more HP from your motor.

I found this out the hard way when I was into Car Audio. I put a High Output Alternator in my car and lost what felt like a TON of HP. I went back to the stock Alternator a few months later and it felt like a did a bunch of mods.

Unless you really need the high output. I would stick with the stock alternator.

My ignition, fuel pump, etc. require alot of current. The stock 80 A has trouble keeping up after a while.

Have you rewired your fuel pump? The stock wires would be 11 years old. Just a thought. https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...#>/biggrin.png Are you just using the OE alternator?

Yeah, I have a 10 gaue wire running from my fuel pump to my fuel pump under the hood. My stock alternator is over 10 years old.

funny you should say this, my battery died in my othe car last night, so on top of getting the RX-7 ready for the BBQ, I had to go to Sears and get a battery and put it in the Lexus, and they were out of gold! Oh well, I put a silver in it- I probably wont own it 100 months to use the warranty on the gold anyhow, lol.

The silver works fine.

Should have bought an Optima. They are the best damn battery out there. But they cost a lot of $. Mine was $100.[/quote]

I always buy batteries from Sears. The work well, and the warranty is great.

You can find Optima batteries at SK, can't you?
