i have a 89 gxl, with the omp blocked off.

every time the car cools down and i start it up it somkes really really bad, but after it comes up to operation temp it runs fine no smok.

i thought that i was just premixing too strong and this was the reason why it was smoking, so i went to a low and low %, will its still smoking and im runing no premix.

i dont know if its burning oil because it leaks oil from the pan so i still have to add a qt between oil changes, my only thought is that the motors was overheated and the oil control rings are gone, but im hoping some one has another idea.

well if you have no OMP and youre now running no premix, your motor is probably toasted anyhow now.

im not saying go thousands of miles with no omp im saying 100 miles wont hurt anything, i did it to see if it was smoking because of the premix of somthing else, and it is somthing els.

i posted because im not sure what, if it is the oil control rings than it seems like it would smok all the time and at higher rpms, but it only smokes when its cold and at low rpms.

and i already put premix in the tank again i only went less than half a tank with no lube.

your motor is toasted if its burning oil, does ity matter if we can narrow it to a specific internal component? nope. in all honesty i wouldnt drive 5 miles with no premix.

your motor is toasted. if it wasnt before it is now because of your no-premix idea. so basically stop looking for other problems cause your motor is roasted.
