I used a wire between the diagnosis connector and the negative terminal on the battery. So I could see if my ECU was sending any codes.

Why did you do this? You're grounding the diagnostic connector??? Is that an S5 thing, and if so, do you have an S5 (because on mine, you don't connect any diagnostic ports to ground to pull codes, and that seems like a really dangerous thing to do, since the diagnostic port is directly connected to the ECU...).

And, I'm assuming you didn't remove the negative terminal of the battery before you installed the stereo, right?

That is how you check the codes on an S5.

That is so messed up https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...#>/biggrin.png but it's alot easier than the S4 codes https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...IR#>/blink.png

Yah, I reread the instructions like 5 times to make sure I read it right before I did it the first time. It's pretty easy and works.

dont stop at just the radio fuse, check all of them by the drivers seat, i know mroe then 1 fuse goes to the radio setup like i mentioned before, and if youre wiring is fubar you never know which one you couldve blown.

my radios blown a bunch of fuses but has yet to blow the radio fuse, generally the room fuse blows.

I am about to go check all my fuses and see if I can find the problem. I just can't think of any fuses that could make all the **** that is happening happen. Except the EGI Fuse that is....and even then, I don't know how it would make all my sensors go haywire.

I was told that if the CEL stays on, that means that the ECU is messed up...anyone heard that before?

i had a problem somthing like that. the only differnce was my radio came on but no sound. i later found out that fc's came with factory speaker amplifiers and if you hook up the wrong wire you gonna send power to the speakers and hear a loud pop with sound like you blew a few speakers. what i did was install new speakers and a new 4 channel amp. cause if you hook your speaker wire stright to the light aqua green wires you wont get any sound. but if i'm not mistaken the wires that went to the top part of the old radio would be the remote wires to the factory amps. best bet is to get a D.M.M and some connectors and get the work https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...R#>/violin.gif

When it clipped the connector in...I had nothing. Since the ground was not grounded. Then I clicked the antenna wire in and the radio came on. It grounded itself throught the antenna. But just like you...I had no sound. I thought well if I ground this black wire, the speakers will work. So I grounded it and *POP* no sound...no nothing. Now my car is the way it is. I think I am simply going to try and fix my car...and where the stereo is supposed to go. That will become my gauge holder area....**** the stereo. I will live without it.
