It's an '86 sport. It has Suspension Techniques springs and Tokico struts. The secondary injectors don't work.

I bought it as a project car, but I'm considering parting it out if the body doesn't pass my inspection. We'll see, I guess.

foopy 10-08-2003 04:04 AM

how much? and where'd ya find it?

UniqueTII 10-08-2003 04:18 AM

I got it for $500 from a guy in Indiana. Getting it back here might be a little costly, but it shouldn't be too bad. I'm putting it in storage out there for a month or so while I try and figure out what it needs.

4RotorRocket 10-08-2003 06:06 AM

Great price.Congrats.Post pics if possible.

banzaitoyota 10-08-2003 10:13 AM

vosko 10-08-2003 10:14 AM

orange my favorite color!

jk

looks straight and some bling bling 80's rims too!

j9fd3s 10-08-2003 10:22 AM

aluminum hood? that looks pretty good, at least you get the big brakes and 5 lug, and no rusty sunroof

mike

vosko 10-08-2003 10:41 AM

you and BJ can have the sport squad

turborotor 10-08-2003 12:07 PM

It could be an ecu problem if the secondaries are not coming up, or a broken ground to those injectors.

UniqueTII 10-08-2003 01:47 PM

I'm going to check the grounds when I move it into storage, and if it needs an ECU, I can ask RD to borrow one of his.

Don't make fun of my rims, Jon...they look like yours. https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...#>/biggrin.png

It does have the aluminum hood, and it's in good shape, except for the faded sunrise red.

vosko 10-08-2003 01:54 PM

they kinda do look like mine........!!

ah well. i will live so get that pos running if you want help buy me a plane ticket https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...1047683785.gif

if you wanna ship it via truck i reccommend ableautotransport.com

from texas to nj it took them from saturday morning (placed order) until wednesday at 6am to get me my car. it was picked up late sunday night from texas and made it here late tuesday but the guy decided to hold it until the morning.

kevin

UniqueTII 10-08-2003 04:35 PM

I got a quote of $450 from them. That's a bit high, seeing as how it approaches the purchase price, but we'll see. I'm thinking I can get it running well enough to drive back, but we'll see. It runs great until it hits the wall at 3800.

Turbo II 10-08-2003 04:38 PM

there is a TII in portland for like 800. im gonna go rob a bank then buy that one. nice find ed!

UniqueTII 10-08-2003 04:44 PM

If I end up parting this car out, I might just get a TII instead of doing a sport swap.

I wanted that TII on Oregon, but I want to see a car before I buy it.

wow $450?

check the quote again they say Deposit, then Total price. dont add those together, the second price is the complete price with deposit included.

it only cost me $625 to ship from texas to NJ

mike

if im cruising i keep it well under 3800rpms so it should be fine to drive home.

kevin.

Rob x-7 10-08-2003 07:41 PM

the cruise wont be bad, its the acceleration that could get ugly.

vosko 10-08-2003 07:46 PM

well a stock N/A has some power down low sorta

yeah you could drive it home https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...DIR#>/wink.png

UniqueTII 10-08-2003 09:26 PM

I'd have to fix a couple other things to get it home, but I think it'd make it.

Oops, the total cost was $400, not $450. I wasn't adding the deposit, I just forgot what it said. I'd rather risk driving it back, but I'm crazy like that.

I'm in Aiken SC and go to Charlotte frequently

MazdaEnthused 10-09-2003 01:32 PM

rims look like somthing that came off of a porshe they do look alright though... congrats...

UniqueTII 10-09-2003 02:00 PM

The rims match the year of the car, just not the current style.

RD has a spare resistor pack, I think. I should give that a shot.

pengaru 10-09-2003 02:08 PM

when you gonna go out there? IL isnt too far off, let me know if you want some help.

DaddyMac 10-09-2003 02:09 PM

well its all about the period look. that means you need your slippery when wet tape too though.

mike

UniqueTII 10-09-2003 03:53 PM

I bet I still have my slippery when wet tape. Too bad I only have a CD player.

Peng, I'll be out there on the 18th of this month, but I don't know if I'll be working on it or just putting it into storage. Thanks for the offer!

if he listens to freestyle he needs a members only jacket

and a pastel suit.
