Then start with tranny and differential. 5 spd and some 410s will get you goin. Or if you wanna keep the auto then try the just the differential gears. Just check to make sure tour top speed isnt goin to be like 60 mph. j/k

How long ago did you buy the car? How well is it running? Is it in tune, out of tune? Fluids okay?

Do a thorough tune up of the car and get it running very well stock. Then consider modifying it.

Depends on where you live but....

Look in the FAQ section. Someone did a whole list of things that can be done to free up and generate power.

that's a fine looking convertable, real clean, keep it!

now, if you put a tii engine in it, get a light Al hood, FMIC, and change out the the whole transmission and drivetrain, and then did some mods. you will have the best looking, ultimate sleeping. you will be set. think of your RX-7 as a longterm college project, b/c that's what it is. and girls can learn how to drive a stick, i knew 3 that did and let them drive my car, and they did great, minus the lack of power steering. https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...DIR#>/wink.png

dont try to spend your money on a bunch of cheap mods, you will just waste it. do one thing at a time, and buy with the notion that whatever you do will permenantly stay on your car. then you will get your money's worth. and dont buy something that will change if you mod another componet, like exhaust for an NA if you get a TII engine.

5-speed conversion. you need this to slip the clutch at 4 K rpm to get a good launch and actually take advantage of any mods you may do. i had an 86 na, and it was the slowest car ever, especially off the line.

think about if you want to keep the convertable setup as well as staying n/a. it might take a while but if you wanted to go all out i'd say sell the vert and find a t2 and go from there. otherwise, other than the intake and exhaust which are perfect somewhat low cost mods (depending on which way you go) i would say standalone ecu maybe...?

i agree

i agree

Yes but the whole idea is that I wanted the vert

Thats why I bought the car....

he has already said multiple times he likes the vert and wants to keep it. just because you own a coupe doesn't mean everyone else needs to. answere his question, dont change his question, just answere it.

I would leave the engine itself stock, if you want

something do a exaust, pay attention to local

emissions laws.

Dont go ripping out all the emissions and make the car

worthless. No one wants to buy a bastardized vert.

concentrate on cosmetic/suspension mods, the car you have makes

a nice cruiser, but its just not meant for speed being

its a automatic and its N/A. If you were to modify the car

it would become worthless. Stock verts sell and hold

thier value.

That's good advice!

Do the preventive maintenance. Put the car in top shape. And do the exhaust if you feel the need to spend more money. But don't start chopping it up!

BAH!!!!

Rip the emissions out, do the tb mod, get a 5 speed, and the 4.10 rear end. Then get intake and exhaust.

If your girlfried isn't good enough to learn to drive a stick then how's she gonna learn to drive a dick?
