I Fucked Up My Subframe
#1
I ******* cross-threaded my front subframe! I was putting the right-side front control arm back in after installing polyurethane bushings on it and I ******* cross-threaded the outside thread where the bracket for the pivot bushing mounts.
So I guess now I have to ******* take the entire goddamn subframe out of the ******* car and take it to a shop to be re-threaded. This ******* sucks! All the nuts on the subframe are so ******* seized it's not even funny, and all I have for my breaker bar are ******* useless 12-point sockets. The useless Haynes manual doesn't even have a procedure for taking out the front subframe. This is not what I want to be dealing with right now.
Oh, and to top it all off, my friends just decided that, "Well, since he's screaming and throwing hammers again, I guess we'll just go play pool and smoke these really expensive cigars that we got without him, and not even try to calm him down or even seem like we even ******* care or that we're his friends at all..."
I hate everything.

chill, ive done **** like that before. you can get taps and you can get thread files to clean that up. besides, its too late to worry about it today. go drink some beer and worry about it tomorrow.

All you should have to do is figure out the bolt size and tread pitch (how many threads per mm). Go to a place that sells taps, some hardware stores might carry metric taps. If your local hardware store doesn't have metric taps, call a local machine shop, and ask them who they buy their tooling from. If neither of those are an option, buy it from MSC Industsrial Supply Co, I work at a machine shop, and we order alot of our tooling from MSC. Buy the correct tap size, and die if the bolt got all fucked up too. Then chase the tap through the stripped out hole. And if the bolt is fucked up run the die over the bolt. Then be very careful when you start the bolt into the hole. I'd recomend starting all your bolts be hand so that this doesn't happend again.
Hope this helps.
