How Much Do You Pay For Insurance?
#51
Geico, Nationwide, All-State, Farmers, AAA, and Progressive are the most expensive insurance you can get under 25. Try something like Mercury, AIS, General, Bristol West, Infinity, theres lots but I dunno if they have those where you are.
I called progressive they told me im screwed if i wanna use one of those at the top lol told me to go with someone else.

Holy ****, i'm so excited! I might be able to get my RX-7 after all! Note, this is if I get both jobs that i'm hoping to (summer and school). Here's how it all breaks down
Summer job:
8 hour days at $10 an hour, 5 days, 3 months
Total: $4800 before tax
School job:
5 hour days at $7.50 an hour, 5 days, 9 months
Total: $6750 before tax
Yearly total:
$11,550
-----
Spending:
Rent + Utilities (we'll round up): $375 a month, $4500 a year
Books (1 full year): $600
Car insurance: $200 a month, $2400 a year
Food: (Roughly) $35 a week, $140 a month, $1680 a year
Random things: No idea yet, we'll say $50 a month, $600 a year
Monthly Total (Doesn't include books):
$740
Yearly Total:
$9780
------
Money left over:
$1770 a year
$147.50 a month
$37 a week(rounded)
Of course, all of these figures are subject to change. I might not need to spend $50 a month on random things, just like I might not need to spend $25 a week on food. Food, Random, Rent (haven't chosen a place yet, so it might be less), and Books are all estimates.
If I put that money left over all in the bank, and didn't get a raise, after 4 years of school i'd have $7,080 in my bank account, plus interest. Oh god, i'm so excited! But number-crunching has made my math-challenged head hurt, so I think it's time for bed.

Sorry, that last bit was written last night when I originally wrote all that.
Wow, I fucked up on the Random section. Here's a new layout:
Earned:
$11,550
Spent:
Rent + Utilities: $375 a month, $4500
Books (1 full year): $600
Car insurance: $200 a month, $2400
Food: $35 a week, $140 a month, $1680
Random things: $10 a week, $40 a month, $480 a year
Total per month (not including books):
$755
Total per year (including books):
$7980
Left over:
$3750 per year
$297.50 per month
$74 per week
With that figure, i'd have $15,000 in the bank after I get out of college.
Also, that's not including my car payment, considering I don't know how much it will be yet

Also, by random things I meant random necessities. Soap, shampoo, lightbulbs...that's all just rough estimates (with the exception of a few). Also, the money "left over" could be used for random things as well. Car parts, girlfriend, video games...or I could just save all of it.

How much is the car? If your making payments on it wouldnt you have to get full coverage? Your spending numbers sound too low. You forgot car maintnence, and if you look around on the forum that can be pretty expensive. You dont have to get the car now, there will be other 7's available after you get outa college.
