AZ is real hot this summer and my car has been running real hot, how do I test the stock clutch fan to see if its doing its job? Thanks

Check the hub for signs of leakage, I believe they use some sort of silicone fluid. And make sure the fan is spinning rapidly with the engine hot and idling. If its old, and you suspect it may be not be 100%, just replace it.

As stupid as it sounds, I remember someone saying that if you can stop it at idle, it's still good. Any merit to that? I've stuck a wrench handle in mind at idle, it stops no problem.

Clutch fan is designed to stop, putting something in the fan isnt a way to test it

Not sure what the rpm should be, but I guess it should be pretty close to the engine speed. |
So other then having a tach, im pretty much fucked on testing it?

Here's a nifty little toy. Just $195.
