I'm ready to physical pull out tranny and since im taking a little break, i wanted to know what mm is the flywheel nut?
and on a side note, i forgot to mark my drive shaft joke with my differential, i heard they need to be set back to the way they were to preserver balance. Am i in trouble? |
The nut is 52 mm. I've always used a 2 1/8" socket, and I never had any trouble. I always mark my driveshaft, but some people I know don't and haven't had any trouble.

one more thing, i had my differential replaced about a year ago, when i was not into tuning, and i know my car came w/ a lsd. How can i tell if the one they put back in is an lsd? i have it on jackstands, i can't remeber which way they are supposed to turn.

Brandon https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...#>/biggrin.png https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...#>/biggrin.png If you're not using an impact gun it will be VERY tough. One option would be to bolt a flat metal bar to the flywheel and let it brace against the body. The other would be to have someone hold a breaker bar with a 19mm socket on the front pulley bolt; but then the front bolt may come loose, which could cause problems. |
There should be 2 holes in the flywheel. You need to get a post that they use to hold up stopsigns. Take 2 bolts and attach the sign post to the 2 holes in the flywheel. Then whall your standing on the sign post, loosen the big ass nut. https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...#>/biggrin.png
The nut is on there with 350 lbs/ft of torque. It sucks if your not buff. https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...#>/biggrin.png https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...#>/biggrin.png Good Luck!! Brandon |
Ohh, and while your trying to loosen it, bounce on it a little instead of just pushing on it. It make it 10 times easier. :tounge:
