[quote name='CrassFC3S' date='Jul 2 2005, 01:22 PM']like i said wiener i dont know how long it was in there but if you really need a clutch like that its going to go through some abuse is it not???? well get a clutch in a high hp car and beat the **** out of it constantly and lets see how long it lasts... a year is fine

I drove around for a couple months in a 400+ hp mustang with a 6 puck clutch. Talk about a pain in the ass. i spun the tires at almost every takeoff. I was just starting to get it down when I sold the car.

i sure as **** hope i don't have to replace the act, disc that soon, not the most expensive disc but sure as hell not the cheapest either.

CrassFC3S 07-03-2005 12:26 AM

nah when i say i was abusing it i was abusing it lol like dropping the clutch constantly, i was beating up that tranny with the intentions of getting a new one hehe and in actuality the clutch fork broke before the clutch itself went out but there wasnt much left on the disc and i wasnt about to drop the tranny again a month later,

[quote name='Cheers!' date='Jul 1 2005, 03:00 PM']Wow... That is not an easy clutch to drive. Especially shifting out of 1st and into 2nd the transmissions/driveline gets unloaded so quickly that it makes the car shake.

Setup is spec stage 3, spec billet aluminum 8.8 lbs flywheel. Quite interesting. Only have taken it around the block. Hope it will feel better once it gets broken in

A while back I drove a four port N/A BP with a 9 lb flywheel and a 3-puck solid hub disk, and ACT Xtreme pressure plate. That thing was the hardest car I have ever had to drive; nearly impossible for city driving.

Nothing bites like a 3 puck unsprung. You 6-puck guys don;t know how smooth yours is...

I'm still a fan of organic disks for city driving... although I have been experimenting with some kevlar and carbon variations with success.

That's what you think.

The clutch actually isn't all that bad in stop and go traffic. I can't seem to launch it any lower than 1500 without stalling it unless I make the clutch up take super super slow like in parking. But at a redlight where you gotta get going a bit faster 1500 is the best I can do.

The spec clutch stage 3 isn't bad, the pressure plate is not heavy at all, nice and easy to control. It's definitly a bit heavier than stock, but not like the ACT HD pressure plate. Overall I'm very happy with it. I did notice that say you are getting close to an intersection and you need to grab 3rd and you are at 5000 rpm in 2nd and the light goes yellow, you keep the clutch pedal in and step on the brake... The car will stall out. I don't think the BAC can compensate for the revs dropping that fast...

I have a ACT 6 puck clutch & xtreme pressure plate.Took a lil bit to get used to it but I like it alot. It's very chirpy when I race it all the way into 4th.
