My Honda has carb heaters; are there aftermarket carb heaters available for this setup?

usually you want the coldest fuel possible, people even

put chillers in thier cars that hold dry ice and the fuel line

goes thru it. Heat no good as you can get vapor lock and what not.

Maybe those carb heaters on your honda is something for cold

starting only?

yeah, that's what I was thinking...do the car carbs have problems in cold weather?

pbrx7-I have a aftermarket 6 port intake I used on my 13bna with a Holley if in need. I've used racing beat, demon carb, webber, and finally a custom 600 cfm dual pumper Holley built by Ty at TPC Racing. I've gone through the different power valve and no power valve and center pivot float bowls because in corners you lean out. The webber had great power but it would run evenly at a steady rpm IE driving on the hwy. Demon was the best out of the box and they were very helpful at Barry Grant but have a tendacy to leak on the thottle shaft and I had to get mine rebuilt twice by them. My double pumper I had built bolted right on and ran prefect. I am going to richen it just a little but that is me and it probably does not need it. I welded one air/ fuel bung in each header pipe with a one wire cadillac probe(price) you do not an expensive one then a autometer for each and now I know what the engine is doing at all times. I'm old school and do not want to get into electrical unless I have to. I hope I can do the picture right since I'm not computer friendly. Good luck.

Mrmazda,

I followed every thing you said up until air/fuel bung? I don't want to sound stupid but I'm not tracking here. Also, from what your saying I'm on the right track with the double pumper. What is the max size you would use for a good performance/streetable setup. Also, what about porting? I realize this setup runs all six ports all the time. Is it nessecary? I'm afraid of opening it up to much. Please let me know what worked for you. What kind of shape is your intake in and how much do you want? And finally, thanks for the info. You and I would get along great. I know the fuel injection on my car because I've had so much trouble with it in the past. Now it's in good working order, better than the factory had it, but I still hate it!

i believe jay-tech also makes or made a 6 port intake manifold, go with any one of the, i use to have an 84 gsl with a bridge holley setup and let me tell you best NA setup ever!

All i did was a 13b rebuild, used turboII side housings( you can also use 12a side housings they are 4 port as well but then u have to relocate the motor mounts) because 4 port is way better to port period than 6 port. Bridge ported the side housings, real good exhaust port, got the racing beat intake manifold, holley 650 rejetted, and i was shifting at 9800 rpm doin 13.8's and that was with stock rubber and a 3.90 diff..i would done the same setup on my 91 but i want to try and fine tune this fuel injection crap, you know use an s-afc with injectors pump and dyno run it, see which makes more HP

air/fuel bung = place where wideband o2 goes?

Bung where the o2 sensor goes -yes. The intake I have is the jay-tech and it is brand new if I did not know I used it 3 years ago it would pass for new. I do nt remember how much I paid for it but I must have gotten one of the last ones before they switched into another field. At that time I just had normal old street ports but bigger than a 650 double pumper is overkill and probably will do you more harm than good. The holley I'm running now is boost referenced and has mechanical secondaries here is a pic of the old demon carb on the motor I will take a picture of the holley when I can borrow my sons camera.

mrmazda,

so basically your saying run a o2 sensor with a air/ fuel gauge for each rotor? What is boost referenced? If your intake is for sale, let me know how much. Gotta go back to work. Maddiannuyawk, thanks for your help.

My motor is an 86 6-port, someone asked. It is running really really good. Lots more power than the 12a. I can't wait to take it to the track. I am still having a fuel problem, still needs figuring.
