Hello everyone. I'm wondering if anyone has used or has any knowledge of anyone using a holley setup such as racing beats. Let me know what you know. Also, does anyone know where I can get the upper manifold for the 6-port other then from racing beat?

ive never used one but i do believe that it take some fine tuning to get them running right. but then so does forced induction so i guess either one is going to be a pain. but with turbo its all computer mapping your engine paramaters and having the right equipment, so my guess for carbs it would be fine tuning the equipment physically and puttin it on a dyno alot. but im not to sure so good luck on your quest for knowledge. https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...1047683329.gif

I just got my 6-port into my 85 and I am running a holley carb set up from racing beat. It is easy to installl and fairly easy to tune. I am just waiting for my timing to be fixed, I just didn't get to it yet, so its not running the greatest yet. But when It does, I'll let you know.

are talking about carbing a 2nd gen? WHY?

i am in the procces of putting together my 13b and putting it in my gtu, i am useing the raceing beat dellorto 48mm sidedraft carb, i put it on my 12a (aside from the constant flooding) it made the li'll basterd screem, so hopefully it will be good on my 13b

I carbed the second gen motor because I am putting it in a non fuel injection car and it makes the swap a whole lot easier. No wiring or anything to mess with. Thats why I did it. and makes more power than stock. I will let everyone know how the swap goes.

Wow, I now have incorporated carburation into my future car plans!



question: Is some kind of CAI available for that? Or would you not want it for some reason?



Also, I'm familiar with how weather/temperature affects carbs from motorcycle riding. My Honda has carb heaters; are there aftermarket carb heaters available for this setup?

awesome,I love 1st gens, your doing exactly what i want to do. unfortunatly, i have to live with my 87 for now. it's not all that bad though! look forward to hearing from you when its done. i've got this wacky idea of spinning the motor about 11,ooorpm and throwing in gobs of fuel from a double pumper. a few more questions. are you using a 4 or 6 port. everyone says go with a 4 port but i think a 6 port would have better manners on the street. if you don't mind, how much did every thing cost( intake setup, fuel delivery) thanks man! https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...IR#>/boink.gif

A small double pumper with a wideband in the tailpipe and a readout on the dash would be very nice and easy to jet/tune. 11,000rpm requires a specially built motor and about 120psi of oil pressure. A stock 13b will spin 11k rpm......only a few times though.
