ok i only hear it after the car has warmed up some but then it seems like when ever i hit a bump i hear a squeak like metal rubbing on metal, i don't think it is the shocks because why would the car need to heat up... i think it is something with the exaust because after i get done with a drive if i tap the exaust with my foot it will make the sound any clue what it might be?

Sounds like the exhaust. I would jack the car up after you warm it up, secure it with jackstands, get under there, put on a pair of heavy gloves, and shake the exhaust and try to track down the sound.

Or... you could turn the radio up.

that method works for me but i don't like it sqeaking like mad at start up and from stop to start so i think the jacking up and shaking is a good method i will get some pics if i can find it

I've had a similar noise coming from the rear for about 3 years. I've had the interior, exhaust, brakes, and suspension in and out a couple times and I could never figure it out. I'm just used to it now.

It could be your spare tire. the little plate that you screw in might not be on or screwed in all the way at all causing the tire to move around during acceleration, braking or bumbs.

nah it isn't that because when i get out after a decent drive where the car is warm i can tap the exaust with my fot and it makes the noise

Maybe the guts in your mufflers are falling apart. That is the only thing that could really be doing it in the exhaust, unless you have a massive exhaust leak. And then it would be obvious were it is comeing from.
