Might as well get other opinions too...

I think I lost my p/s pump or fluid on my way back home today from mobile...normally when I'm at a stop light, I can turn my wheel pretty easy, it wouldn't budge, like it was frozen... and when I went on the interstate to go back home from mobile - i turn this one corner before the onramp, and it just turned like ****, like it didnt really want to go anywhere until I got up in speed.

Is it cause im low on fluid or the belt is off? If it's the case of low on fluid, how and where do you check to see if it is or isn't? I checked the belt today (assuming it's the one below the a/c belt...) and it looked like it was off the track, but I could be wrong.

Anyone know?

I meant to take pictures on what I'm talking about from the belt, but it was too dark for you to see anyway.

well it could be a bunch of different things

1. it could have thrown a belt

2. it could have run out of fluid

3. the ps computer could have died

4. the stepper motor in the pump could have died

5. you could have a bad wire or something

so check the belt, check the level of fluid, and then start lifting wieghts

Ok....

Where extactly is the fluid thing located to check it? As well as the ps CPU?

I hate to be stupid, but stepper motor? Never heard of that?...

Well, I'll take a picture of the belt tomorrow and show you guys why I think the belt is off track. It doesn't look like it's in the correct place... I dunno, I could be wrong.

Lift weights? Shall I be afraid of this out coming? lol

facing the car from the front. there on the upper right side of the motor there are two pulleys next to each other. That is the power steering assembly there is a dipstick-looking thingy that should have yellow writing on it..that is how you check the power steering fluid

being stupid is ok. i'm stupid :stickpoke:

huh? i meant manual steering rack, no power assist. save weight and space! :bigok: no more parasitic drag and build muscles.

You also could have lost all the fluid from a leak in the cooler, happened to me on 2

of these cars.

But if you lost it all of a sudden, I would say the fluid is good.
